Ørsted and partners secure funding for H2RES project; offshore wind power to produce renewable hydrogen for road transport

The plant will use electricity from offshore wind turbines to produce renewable hydrogen for buses, trucks and potentially taxis. The daily hydrogen production is expected to total around 600kg, enough to power 20-30 buses, while also making testing its use in trucks and taxis possible. Avedøre Power Station on Avedøre Holme.

Bye Aerospace unveils 8-seat all-electric eFlyer 800; Safran supporting propulsion design

Safety features include two wing-mounted electric motors, each with dual redundant motor windings, quad-redundant battery packs and a full airplane parachute. The eFlyer 800 will have only one-fifth the operating costs of traditional twin turboprops and is geared for the air-taxi, air-cargo, regional and charter aircraft markets.

Berkeley Lab analysis finds autonomous electric taxis could greatly reduce US LDV GHG emissions

Researchers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) have found that the per-mile greenhouse gas emissions of an electric autonomous taxi in 2030 would be 63-82% lower than a projected 2030 hybrid vehicle driven as a privately owned car and 90% lower than a 2014 gasoline-powered private vehicle.
