Light-duty ZEVs accounted for 21.1% of new vehicles sold in California in Q1

California posted new light-duty zero emission vehicle (ZEV) sales—battery-electric (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and fuel cell vehicles (FCEV)—of 124,053 units in Q1 2023, representing 21.1% market share of the total 588,455 light-duty vehicles sold, according to the California Energy Commission. DOE: light-duty plug-in electrified vehicle sales in US nearly doubled from 2020 to 2021
