Toyota will supply its fuel cell systems, including fuel cell stacks, hydrogen tanks and other key components to Caetanobus SA—the Portuguese bus engineering and production company—to build hydrogen fuel cell city buses.

Petrobras and Galp Energia signed a cooperation agreement for a biofuels production project in Portugal. According to Petrobras Biocombustível CEO Miguel Rossetto, production is expected to start in Portugal in 2015. The project will be implemented via a parity joint venture yet to be formally constituted. The companies will build a biodiesel production plant at Galp’s Sines refinery, which will process the feedstock produced in Brazil.

As part of the Portuguese program to promote electromobility (MOBI.E), Siemens Portugal concluded a framework agreement for delivery of up to 300 charging points. INTELLI is planning the setup of the charging infrastructure network in Portugal and intends to install the charging points in 25 cities by 2012, at public parking lots and near shopping centers, hotels and airports.
