Texas to grant $18M for natural gas vehicle purchases or repowers

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) announced that $18 million in grants are available to eligible businesses, governmental entities, school districts, and individuals to replace older medium-duty or heavy-duty gasoline or diesel vehicles with natural gas vehicles or repower the vehicles with natural gas engines.

U Texas team develops cobalt-free high-energy lithium-ion battery

Researchers from the Cockrell School of Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin have developed a cobalt-free high-energy lithium-ion battery, eliminating the cobalt and opening the door to reducing the costs of producing batteries while boosting performance in some ways. The findings appeared in the journal Advanced Materials.

DOE to provide up to half the cost of NuScale small modular reactor project
