Volkswagen Group invests in Hubject eRoaming platform for EV charging

The Volkswagen Group is joining the eRoaming platform Hubject GmbH as shareholder. Hubject, a joint venture formed by BMW Group, Bosch, Daimler AG, EnBW, innogy and Siemens ( earlier post ), launched its eRoaming EV charging platform “intercharge” in 2013.

Founded in 2009, Visedo specializes in electric powertrains and components for heavy-duty machinery, commercial vehicles and the marine industry.

Toyota piloting all-hybrid car-sharing scheme in Europe: YUKÕ

Toyota Europe is piloting a new full hybrid car sharing program—named YUKÕ – Japanese for ‘Let’s go’—in two European cities: Dublin, Ireland and Forlì, Italy. Vehicles in the program range from the B-segment Toyota Yaris Hybrid to its iconic Prius and will eventually also include its latest crossover, the Toyota C-HR Hybrid. Toyota selected the pilot cities based on a set of criteria such as state of the local car sharing economy, demographics, infrastructure and congestion levels.

The Valeo and Siemens joint venture dedicated to high-voltage powertrains ( earlier post ) has begun operation. Named Valeo Siemens eAutomotive GmbH, the JV is headquartered in Erlangen, Germany and is expected to have a total of around 1,000 employees. Valeo Siemens eAutomotive will be managed by Louis Pourdieu (CEO) and Peter Geilen (CFO). In April 2016, Valeo and Siemens signed an agreement to form a joint venture in high voltage powertrains for on road vehicles.

Volvo Cars raises US$533M via issuance of preference shares to Swedish investors

Volvo Cars has raised SEK5 billion (US$533 million) from the sale of newly-issued preference shares to a group of Swedish institutional investors. The group of investors comprises two Swedish pension funds, AMF and the First Swedish National Pension Fund (AP1), as well as Folksam, a Swedish insurance company. Pioneer Valley Transit Authority acquires three Proterra electric buses

The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) in Massachusetts has purchased three 40' Proterra Catalyst FC buses, two fast chargers and one depot charger. Serving 24 member communities that rely upon its fleet of 186 mass transit buses, PVTA is the largest regional transit authority in Massachusetts. The buses will serve communities along PVTA’s Route P21E in Holyoke and Springfield.
