Minnesota has become the latest state to adopt California clean car standards; the new standards were finalized by a notice in the state register on Monday. The policy will implement two clean cars standards to reduce vehicle emissions. Original map from Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

Oregon’s Department on Environmental Quality (DEQ) is inviting public comment on a proposed rulemaking that would fully implement Oregon’s low carbon fuel standard (LCFS). A series of several high-profile derailments and explosions prompted the US and Canadian governments to reexamine the safety standards that govern the transport of class 3 flammable liquids. In 2019, 112,685 rail tank cars were used to carry Class 3 flammable liquids, which is nearly as many as the 2015 fleet of 113,045 rail tank cars.
