GreenFlux implements Plug&Charge

The Netherlands-based GreenFlux, a DKV Mobility Group company, has successfully implemented Hubject’s Plug&Charge technology onto its platform. GreenFlux’s Plug&Charge functionality is based on the ISO15118 protocol, which allows a fully automated charging process. By partnering with Hubject, each of the software provider’s Charge Point Operator (CPO) customers can roll out the Plug&Charge feature once their charge stations are updated with the latest firmware.

Volkswagen opening pre-sales for ID.7

Volkswagen is opening pre-sales in Europe for its ID.7 all-electric sedan ( earlier post ); customers are now able to order the model in the Pro specification package with a range of up to 621 kilometers (WLTP) at a price of €56,995. CSIRO, RFC Ambrian form Hadean Energy to commercialize tubular solid oxide electrolysis (tSOE) technology

Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, and corporate advisor RFC Ambrian have co-founded Hadean Energy , a new company to commercialize CSIRO’s tubular solid oxide electrolysis (tSOE) technology. Solid oxide electrolysis (SOE) ( earlier post ) uses a ceramic cell to split heated steam molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. SOE operates at temperatures above 800°C, using the excess heat from industrial processes to make the cell conductive.

Incat Tasmania selects Wärtsilä solutions for battery-electric lightweight Ro-Pax ferry

Technology group Wärtsilä will power the biggest battery electric ship yet built with its battery-electric propulsion system and waterjets. The vessel is a new ferry being built by Incat Tasmania and has been ordered by Incat’s long-term South American customer, Buquebús. With an overall length of 130 meters, the ferry will be the largest ever vessel of its type.

PG&E and BMW of North America start V2X testing in California

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) and BMW of North America (BMW) are collaborating to test how vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology can serve as a solution to offset growing demand on the power grid, improve reliability for electric customers, and maximize the usage of renewable energy.
