Cummins Westport Inc. CWI) received certifications from both the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resources Board (ARB) for its 2018 ISX12N natural gas engine. Earlier post.) Like the Cummins Westport L9N engine, the ISX12N meets California ARB optional Low NO x standard of 0.02 g/bhp-hr, a 90% reduction from engines operating at the current EPA NO x limit of 0.2 g/bhp-hr. The ISX12N also meets 2017 EPA greenhouse gas emission (GHG) requirements.

Ricardo supporting Active Response trial to unlock grid capacity for electric vehicles

Proterra electric bus to begin 4-month trial in Anchorage, Alaska next week

The Municipality of Anchorage’s (MOA) Public Transportation Department (PTD) will put a new 40-foot Proterra Catalyst E2 electric/battery powered bus on trial next week. The bus will begin serving routes for the general public for a four-month trial period. The four-month trial period will test how the bus performs in winter weather, how cold temperatures affect the battery life and whether it’s feasible to pursue an electric bus fleet in the future.
