50 MWh of energy delivered wirelessly to Link Transit, Wenatchee WA bus fleet by Momentum Dynamics system

Link Transit of Wenatchee, Washington has achieved 50 megawatt-hours of energy delivered wirelessly to its electric bus fleet. During the 2019-2020 cold winter weather, a Wenatchee bus featuring the wireless system ran a 14-hour scheduled route and maintained its battery charge above 90% throughout the journey.

The objective of the emission impact analysis was to respond to EPA’s request for comments as to the merits of reducing NO x emissions from heavy-duty trucks by 50 to 90% as outlined in the 6 January 2020 Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) of the CTI. Later years should show additional improvements as greater fleet turnover occurs.

EPA launches Cleaner Trucks Initiative to update NOx standards for heavy-duty trucks

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched the Cleaner Trucks Initiative (CTI) to further decrease NO x emissions from on-highway heavy-duty trucks and engines. EPA intends to publish a proposed rule in early 2020. EPA last revised NO x standards for on-highway heavy-duty trucks and engines in January 2001.
