New Jersey is introducing an additional registration fee for EVs. Governor Phil Murphy signed a law last week renewing New Jersey’s transportation trust fund that adds an annual fee set at $250 this year, and rising $10 over the remaining four years covered by the legislation, bringing it to $290.

Both houses of the New Jersey Legislature (Senate and Assembly) have passed a bill ( S2252 /A4819) that establishes goals and incentives for increased use of plug-in electric vehicles in NJ. By the end of 2040, at least 85% of all new light duty vehicles sold or leased in the State are to be plug-in electric vehicles.

Camden to received NJ’s first electric buses; Proterra purchase supported by Low-No grant
