Balqon Corporation, a developer of electric drive systems, lithium-ion battery systems and medium- to heavy-duty electric vehicles ( earlier post ), announced the availability of its new Mule M100, a battery-electric on-road truck for use in inner-city deliveries and cargo transportation. The Mule M100 has a top speed of 70 mph (113 km) and can travel up to 100 miles (161 km) before having to recharge, making it suited for daily, short-haul deliveries.
