BMW i Ventures has invested in Prometheus Fuels ( earlier post ), a company removing CO 2 from the air and turning it into zero-net carbon gasoline that it will sell at gas stations, at a price that competes with fossil fuels, starting as early as this year. The effective upgrading of alcohols to gasoline, diesel, and jet fuels.

In a recent collaborative study led by the University of Maryland (UMD), researchers found that consumers tend to buy something less fuel efficient than they normally would for their second car after buying an eco-friendly vehicle. Then, I tend to buy a bigger second car. That can be good if it reduces gasoline use.

As part of California’s AB 32 climate change program, Executive Order B-48-18 administratively created a goal of 5 million zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) on California roads by 2030. This action expands on the prior Executive Order B-16-2012, which set a goal of 1.5 million by 2025.

The study is the first to estimate the economic costs to human health and well-being from gasoline, corn-based ethanol and cellulosic ethanol made from biomass.
