When fully implemented, the e-trucks will reduce Danfoss’ scope 1 and 2 emissions in Denmark by 10-15% with the added benefit of next to zero noise and air pollution, thereby ensuring an improved working climate for drivers. The new 24-hour e-trucks will operate on a route between the Danfoss sites in Denmark.

The BMW Group presented the first BMW iX5 Hydrogen vehicles in a pilot fleet that will go into service this year. The fleet of less than 100 vehicles will then be employed internationally for demonstration and trial purposes for various target groups. Hydrogen is the missing piece in the jigsaw when it comes to emission-free mobility.

The Climate Group announced that global pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca will join its business leadership initiative on electric vehicles, EV100 ( earlier post ); AstraZeneca will switch its 16,000-vehicle fleet to electric by 2030. By the end of 2019, AstraZeneca will operate: 120 EVs in the UK (23% of UK fleet).

Solaris has claimed the lead spot in Europe in terms of contracts for electric buses in 2019. In the first months of 2019, Solaris secured three large orders for the supply of electric buses to Berlin (BVG); Milan (ATM); and Warsaw (MZA). A total of up to 470 vehicles will roll off the assembly line to these three metropolises alone.
