High-power EVgo DC fast-charging stations are coming to Chase bank branches beginning this summer—some likely with solar power. Chase will add fast charging at 50 branch locations, potentially in California, Indiana, Illinois, New York, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, according to an EVgo press release. Mercedes-Benz xEV sales (plug-in hybrids and battery electric vehicles) rose 37% ub Q1 2022 to 67,800 units of which 21,900 (+210%) units were battery-electric vehicles (BEV). Overall, Mercedes-Benz Cars January to March deliveries fell 15% year-on-year to 501,600 units in a challenging environment primarily due to semi-conductor constraints. Mercedes-Benz also saw deliveries of S-Class vehicles rise 67% during the quarter.

The Government of Canada has released Budget 2022. Among its measures is up to C$3.8 billion (US$3 billion) to implement Canada’s first Critical Minerals Strategy to capitalize on a growing need for the minerals used in everything from phones to electric cars. The Budget also allocates more than $3 billion (US$2.4 billion) in funding to make zero-emission vehicles more affordable and to build a national network of charging stations.

As per recent reports, Blockstream and former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s Block are breaking ground on a solar and battery-powered bitcoin mine in Texas.
