Nevada joins 16 other States, the District of Columbia and Québec in this effort— led by the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management (NESCAUM)—to work toward a goal that 100% of all new medium- and heavy-duty vehicle sales be zero emission vehicles by 2050 with an interim target of 30% zero-emission vehicle sales by 2030.

The Oregon Environmental Quality Commission adopted rules this week (3-1) to require all new passenger cars, trucks and SUVs sold in Oregon to be zero emissions (ZEVs) by 2035. New gasoline vehicles will still be allowed for sale through 2034. Known as Advanced Clean Cars II , the set of rules builds on regulations in place since 2005.

Volkswagen is suing a German car dealer for importing the China-exclusive ID.6 In 2022, German car dealer Gregory Brudny offered the Volkswagen ID.6 6 EV for sale to customers in Germany. 6 EV is produced in China by the FAW-VW joint venture and is meant to be sold exclusively in the Chinese car market.

A new study by a team from Aarhus University in Denmark has found that car dealerships pose a significant barrier to electric vehicle adoption at the point of sale due to a perceived lack of business case viability in relation to gasoline and diesel vehicles.
