Hydrogen Council report finds cost of hydrogen solutions to fall sooner than previously expected

The Hydrogen Council has published a new report, Path to Hydrogen Competitiveness: A Cost Perspective , demonstrating that the cost of hydrogen solutions will fall sharply within the next decade, sooner than previously expected. Drop in the cost of components for end-use equipment under scaling up of manufacturing.

BloombergNEF forecasts green hydrogen should be cheaper than natural gas by 2050 in some markets; falling costs of solar PV key

In a new piece of research, BloombergNEF (BNEF) finds that the levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH 2 ) made from renewable electricity is set to fall faster than it previously estimated. These countries accounted for one-third of global GDP in 2019. Such low renewable hydrogen costs could completely rewrite the energy map.

General Motors to recall all additional Bolt EVs, through MY 2022, for battery replacement; $1B cost

General Motors is voluntarily expanding the current Chevrolet Bolt EV recall ( earlier post ) to cover the remaining 2019 and all 2020-2022 model year vehicles, including the new Bolt EUV. GM will replace defective battery modules in Chevrolet Bolt EVs and EUVs with new modules, with an expected additional cost of approximately $1 billion.

California Energy Commission awards SPARKZ $2.6M to support development of cobalt-free solid-state batteries
