Kawasaki Heavy to build first ocean-going liquid hydrogen tanker with demo in 2017; H2 for transport, industry, power in Japan

The Nikkei reports that Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. KHI) will build the first ocean-going ships to carry liquefied hydrogen (LH 2 ), with plans for a demonstration test by 2017 in which liquefied hydrogen will be shipped from the state of Victoria in Australia to Japan. KHI’s view of a “CO 2 -free hydrogen chain”.

Titan LNG: ~11% of newbuilds in 2017 were LNG-powered; tipping point for marine fuel

Borgward to build manufacturing facility in Bremen; all-electric-drive Borgward BX7 first model; Industry 4.0

Borgward Group AG, the reincarnation of the German automaker that ceased operations in 1961 ( earlier post ), will be returning to Bremen and building a production facility there. Construction of the new manufacturing facility is scheduled to begin in early 2017. Production will be launched at the plant a year later, in 2018.
