The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has granted petitions to add 1-bromopropane (1-BP) to the list of hazardous air pollutants regulated under the Clean Air Act (CAA). This is the first time since 1990 that EPA has granted a petition to add a hazardous air pollutant to the CAA.

Volvo Trucks has become the first commercial truck OEM in the UK to qualify four different models for the Government’s £25,000 plug-in grant on new registrations. After the initial allocation of 100 grants, the grant amount decreases to £16,000 for the subsequent 250 trucks, and further drops to £5,000, with a maximum limit of 1,500 grants.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is accepting applications for the Texas Natural Gas Vehicle Grant Program (TNGVGP) to improve air quality. These Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP) grants provide up to $37.8 Grant applicants must go through a participating dealer under contract with the TCEQ in order to apply.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) announced that $18 million in grants are available to eligible businesses, governmental entities, school districts, and individuals to replace older medium-duty or heavy-duty gasoline or diesel vehicles with natural gas vehicles or repower the vehicles with natural gas engines.

The UK Plug-in Car grant aims to stimulate the sales of electric cars by slicing a chunk of the price. Recently the value of the grant was reduced and the number of models eligible dramatically cut. Priced at £34,945, before the grant, the new model offers upto 282 miles of range (WLTP), the most of any sub £35,000 car.
