ENVIA suspends operations at Oklahoma City GTL plant

The Board of ENVIA Energy (ENVIA) has decided to suspend operations at the Oklahoma City gas-to-liquids plant ( earlier post ) and to undertake a review of strategic alternatives in order to preserve the value inherent in the facility. The ENVIA plant uses Velocys Fischer-Tropsch technology to produce premium wax, diesel and naphtha. The decision was driven by financial circumstances following a leak at the plant, as announced on 15 May 2018.

FedEx Freight adds 100 Class 8 CNG tractors, CNG fueling station in Oklahoma City

Less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier FedEx Freight has purchased more than 100 Class 8 CNG tractors from Paccar units Kenworth and Peterbilt, and has installed a CNG fueling station to serve the new CNG fleet at its Oklahoma City Service Center. The CNG fueling station in Oklahoma City also provides efficiency for fueling the fleet through two different methods.

The first Fischer-Tropsch product has been successfully produced at ENVIA Energy’s GTL plant in Oklahoma City. The ENVIA plant uses Velocys technology for small-scale GTL. These products are fractionated on site to produce premium wax, diesel and naphtha. The fuels produced at the plant are expected to qualify under the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS) and generate tradeable credits in the form of Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs).

Hertz introduces CNG vehicle rentals in US; Civics and Yukons

Hertz will begin renting eight CNG Honda Civics and two CNG GMC Yukons at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City early next month. Oklahoma City is serving as a pilot program for Hertz’s CNG airport rentals program. Last year, Hertz introduced the addition of CNG vehicles through Hertz On Demand at Oklahoma State University. The new vehicles will be on display at the Oklahoma City Thunder’s home game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday, April 11.
