Dachser to add 50 Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul electric trucks to fleet

The logistics service provider Dachser is planning to add 50 units of Mercedes-Benz eActros LongHaul ( earlier post ), presented at this year’s IAA Transportation, to its European fleet. Mayor of London: all new London taxis will need to be zero-emission capable from 2018

The Mayor confirmed his plan at Transport for London’s (TfL’s) “New Taxis for London” event, at which he met five manufacturers developing zero emission capable taxis—Frazer-Nash, Nissan, Karsan, London Taxi Company and Mercedes-Benz. Last year the Mayor pledged to introduce an Ultra Low Emission Zone in central London by 2020.

IEA: global energy demand rose by 2.3% in 2018, fastest pace in the last decade; CO2 emissions up 1.7%

As a result, global energy-related CO 2 emissions rose by 1.7% to 33 Gigatonnes (Gt) in 2018. Most of that came from a young fleet of coal power plants in developing Asia. These findings are part of the International Energy Agency’s latest assessment of global energy consumption and energy-related CO 2 emissions for 2018.

Anaheim Transportation Network orders 40 BYD electric buses; 57% electric fleet by 2020

The ATN fleet order will increase the number of BYD electric buses the agency can deploy to serve one of the nation’s busiest tourism and employment regions.
