Austin, Texas-based energy research organization Pecan Street Inc. launched Texas’ first grid-tied vehicle-to-grid (V2G) testing center at its lab in Austin, turning electric vehicles into a dispatchable load shaving tool for the municipally-owned electric utility, Austin Energy.

The LOI immediately commits Montauk’s CO 2 from its Texas facilities to EE North America’s Texas Power-to-X project. EE North America intends to construct a Power-to-X facility in Texas that would take the biogenic CO 2 from Montauk’s locations and use it in the production of e-methanol.

Seeking to slash CO 2 emissions from its North American manufacturing operations, Honda has entered into long-term virtual power purchase agreements (VPPAs) for renewable wind and solar power that will cover more than 60% of the electricity that Honda uses in North America. will deliver to the grid by the end of 2020.
