Lightning Systems debuts new electric Ford F-550 for shuttle buses, delivery trucks

Lightning Systems has introduced an all-electric powertrain for the popular Ford F-550 Chassis Cab. The new Lightning Electric Ford F-550 will be available in gross vehicle weight ratings (GVWR) of 17,500 to 19,500 pounds. Orders from fleets are being accepted immediately. The new Lightning Electric Ford F-550 model will offer peak power of 180 kW (241 hp).

Sweden's Northvolt will make $2.3B of electric-car batteries for BMW

As it ramps up electric-car production, BMW has inked a battery-supply deal with Sweden's Northvolt. BMW plans to buy 2 billion euros ($2.3 billion) of batteries from Northvolt beginning in 2024. Batteries will be manufactured at a factory currently under construction Skelleftea, Sweden, which will use 100% renewable energy, according to a BMW.
