The Detroit News reports that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is extending the major connected vehicle pilot project in Ann Arbor ( earlier post ) by another six months, but won’t change its timetable for deciding whether to move forward with the new technology.

NASA and the National Institutes of Standards and Technology (NIST) are sponsoring the second in a series of regional public workshops to gather ideas and suggestions on the design of the proposed National Network for Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI). The workshop will be held 9 July at the Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland.

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is conducting a workshop today and tomorrow on issues related to fuel economy, vehicle mass reduction and the effects of vehicle mass and size on vehicle safety. The workshop will be at DOT Headquarters in Washington, DC.
