In a recent announcement from American electric vehicle maker Tesla, a Model S Plaid with Track Pack was able to set a new lap record for a production EV at the Nurburgring with a time of 7:25.231. It is also over 8 seconds faster than the 7:33.350 record that was set by a Porsche Taycan Turbo S with Performance Kit last August.

Federal tax law doesn't let me get a rebate from the feds because the car isn't a fully qualified conversion; however, I applied to the State of Oregon to get the state rebate of $750. I hope Electro Auto doesn't get even more swamped by the publicity.

The real acid test is if the car fires up tomorrow while getting cold all night. I sent it to Electric Conversions to add a "low-power" switch so that it pulls 20 amps or 12 amps from a 115V outlet. Alan said that if it ran poorly when cold, the block temperature sensor or the pressure sensor is probably having issues.
