The City of Philadelphia has started to replace its diesel refuse trucks with CNG trucks, contracting with Clean Energy to retrofit its city garage to make it CNG-compliant. Clean Energy will also design, build, operate and maintain a 43-truck private time-fill CNG station, with room for expansion, at the same location.

PECO has been using NGVs since the late 1980s and has six CNG refueling stations at its service buildings in Warminster, Plymouth, Berwyn, Phoenixville, Coatesville, and Eddystone, all of which can be used by the public with arrangements made in advance. The NGVs will be used by PECO’s energy technicians in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Clean Energy has been awarded a contract to build a fueling station that will accommodate both fast- and time-filling for the City of Sacramento, along with a long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) agreement, to fuel more than 100 natural gas refuse trucks with an anticipated 8 million gallons of RNG for the next 10 years.
