I do have to hand it to Jon at Portland Manufacturing, he did a great job fabricating this connector it fit like a glove, and after assembling the motor and trans. It ran like a dream. Going to NEDRA at Portland International Raceway was my first major excursion in the 914 since both the flywheel was balanced and the clutch was properly adjusted. I did get up to 65 but kept my speed mostly at 50 to not pull too much current while breaking in the batteries. I felt proud to not have to waste gas while idling in line.

I took the flywheel and clutch pressure plate to Portland Engine Rebuilders. I delivered this to Portland Engine Rebuilders to 1) remove the outer 1/2" of the flywheel (basically the starter motor teeth) and 2) balance the whole assembly along with the clutch pressure plate so everything is stable. to balance.

I visted Synkromotive two days ago to look into becoming a Beta tester of their new motor controller. It has inputs for over RPM, battery under-voltage and temperature as well. It turns out that, up until last year, all the public buses for Oregon and Washington used four Deka group 31 batteries in them.

The batteries are broken in so I have more current to work with and more importantly 2. Apparently, the AC motor feels like it has more torque at non-zero RPMs (perhaps just a false perception). Sooooo, with everything working reasonably well it's time to drop the motor/tranny again and revisit the flywheel vibrations again.

I've charged the car seven times in the summer heat and the charger can dump a full 8 amps into the batteries every time without heating up the charge detector box. Also, the power given to the motor instantly reflects whatever is specified on the potbox. I had a little bit of a scare today at work.
