IMO Environment Committee approves draft mandatory regulations to cut ship carbon intensity; technical and operational

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) has approved draft new mandatory regulations to cut the carbon intensity of existing ships. The strategy proposed that short-term measures should be those measures finalized and agreed by the Committee between 2018 and 2023.

EEA: average CO2 emissions from new cars and new vans in Europe increased in 2018

According to provisional data published by the European Environment Agency (EEA), the average CO 2 emissions from new passenger cars registered in the European Union (EU) in 2018 increased for the second consecutive year, reaching 120.4 g CO 2 /km in 2018.
