Large Language Models Are Improving Exponentially

Cars That Think

Benchmarking large language models presents some unusual challenges. For one, the main purpose of many LLMs is to provide compelling text that’s indistinguishable from human writing. And success in that task may not correlate with metrics traditionally used to judge processor performance, such as instruction execution rate. RELATED: LLM Benchmarking Shows Capabilities Doubling Every 7 Months But there are solid reasons to persevere in attempting to gauge the performance of LLMs.

Comment on Tesla China sells 71,599 cars in Jun, reversing 8 straight months of year-on-year declines by MJE

CN EV Post

It looks to me that Tesla sold the same number in June 2025 as they did in June 2022 and that the numbers are basically flat and have been for a long time. Tesla has managed to fritter away a significant product lead and its strategy of maintaining sales with only incremental product improvements and reducing margins won’t lead to renewed growth. It will become increasingly a bit player in China, and following that the world (excluding USA, which as we all know is “special”).

Dahon launches first super-lightweight e-bike that is actually affordable

Electrek

Every year, it seems like there’s a new headline about the world’s lightest electric bike. Each year, engineers manage to shave a few more grams off of an exotically designed frame built with even more exotic materials. And each year, the continuously lower weight is balanced by continuously higher prices – often exorbitantly high. But now Dahon has bucked that trend, offering us an incredibly lightweight electric bike at a price that normal e-bike riders can afford.

QOTD: What Stellantis Models Will -- Or Should -- Get the SRT Treatment?

The Truth About Cars

SRT is back. So, which Stellantis models will soon be sporting an SRT trim? Which ones should ? If you're asking me, I would be that Dodge Charger and Dodge Hornet will get the treatment. The Dodge Durango is around for 2026, at least, so it seems likely that one will be available with the SRT treatment. I'd also bet on the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Ram 1500 being available with SRT trims, and perhaps any smaller truck Ram launches in the near term to compete with the Ford Maverick.
