As a direct result of the state’s Clean Cars 4 All program, more than 10,000 Californians have now scrapped old, dirty cars and replaced them with cleaner alternatives such as new and used zero-emission, plug-in hybrid, or hybrid cars. As of 30 September 2020, $82.5 million had been spent on incentives within Clean Cars 4 All.

This set of awards supports a diversity of alternative fuel and vehicle types, including biodiesel production, natural gas vehicle technologies and incentives, hybrid and plug-in vehicles, and E85 fueling stations. Because landfills are a major contributor of greenhouse gas emissions, reducing their size reduces emissions.

It was the Chevrolet Sprint ER , and I've found a nicely intact example in a car graveyard just east of Sacramento. If you want to be picky, the 198 6 Sprint ER was the gas-mileage king of 1980s America, rated at 44 city and 53 highway miles per gallon. The Sprint ER shouldn't be compared to modern hybrids or EVs, though.
