Germany awards €233K to N-ERGIE to support 84 charging points in Bavaria; part of €300M federal program

The German government has awarded €233,000 (US$274,000) to N-ERGIE from the Federal Charging Infrastructure program to build 84 charging points in northern Bavaria. The aim of the Federal Charging Infrastructure is to build 15,000 charge points across Germany. Private investors, cities and municipalities can apply for funding under the program.

Beneficial Electrification League launches rural electric school bus initiative

BEL launches this coalition effort in advance of federal funds targeted to electric school buses in the Investment in Infrastructure and Jobs Act (IIJA) passed by Congress in 2021. MIT study suggests carbon tax could help reduce US deficit, lower other taxes, reduce emissions

A new report from MIT’s Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change suggests that a tax on carbon emissions could help raise the money needed to reduce the US deficit, while improving the economy, lowering other taxes and reducing emissions. This revenue could be used to either cut other taxes or to avoid cuts in Federal programs. If the revenue is used to maintain social programs, lower-income households, not surprisingly, benefit.

EPA proposes tightening primary ozone standards to range of 65-70 ppb; final rule by October 2015
