ZF, addressing the demand for an electrified pickup truck solution, has created the eBeam Axle, a drop-in, electrified axle that allows automakers to transform their current internal combustion engine (ICE) powered trucks into battery-electric vehicles. The eBeam’s modular solution provides 400V and 800V architectures offering flexibility for both OEMs and pickup truck customers.

EV startup Canoo this week confirmed fleet-management company Zeeba has ordered at least 3,000 of its electric vans. The latter company has signed an agreement for 5,450 vehicles, with an initial binding agreement of 3,000 vehicles through 2024, Canoo said in a press release. Zeeba will lease those vehicles to small- and medium-sized businesses.

Alpine, the exclusive sports car brand of the Renault Group, has unveiled the Alpenglow concept as a showcase for a clean emissions future that is within reach for tomorrow’s racing cars and future Alpine vehicle generations. The car is equipped with a hydrogen-fueled internal-combustion engine. Alpines says that Alpenglow is its first step on the path to sustainable solutions for clean mobility.

Polestar on Wednesday revealed the 2024 Polestar 3, which is a significant stage in the evolution of the Swedish EV brand. It's scheduled to go on sale in the United States in the fourth quarter of 2023, starting at $85,300 with destination. The brand's first SUV, the Polestar 3 is twinned with Polestar parent Volvo's upcoming electric successor.

A new partnership between the Volkswgen Group’s software company CARIAD and Horizon Robotics , one of the leading providers of computing solutions for smart vehicles in China, will accelerate the regional development of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving (AD) systems for the Chinese market. As part of the cooperation, CARIAD and Horizon Robotics plan to establish a joint venture, with CARIAD being majority shareholder.

Li-Cycle has started commercial operations in its Alabama Spoke located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Li-Cycle’s fourth Spoke recycling facility in North America has capacity to process up to 10,000 tonnes of manufacturing scrap and end-of-life batteries per year. The Alabama Spoke utilizes Li-Cycle’s patented and environmentally friendly technology to recycle and to process directly full EV battery packs without any dismantling through a submerged shredding process that produces no wastewater.

Tesla is working toward the initial production phases of the Cybertruck at Giga Texas after several production delays. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) reached a settlement agreement with FCA US LLC (FCA) of Auburn Hills, Mich. for $5,601,090 for violations of CARB’s air quality regulations. This is the second enforcement action against FCA in the past four years. The FCA vehicles and model years (MY) involved in the settlement include MY 2012 through 2018 Ram 1500, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango vehicles, equipped with 5.7L gasoline engines.
