Purpose-built electric bikes and e-bike conversions using hub-motors are now commonplace. That got me thinking, how hard would it be, and how much would it cost, to do a simple conversion now? It uses an "outrunner" motor designed for electric skateboards. One thing that hasn't really changed, though, is the expense.
