The new funding program complements BMVI’s funding concept for the overall charging infrastructure system in Germany: This includes private charging at home and at the employer. The 1,000-location program, for which BMVI has now passed the fast-charging law in the cabinet, forms the basis for a fast-charging network for all of Germany.

Hyundai previewed near its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, a prototype of its Connectivity Concept which leverages smartphones and NFC (Near Field Communication). Hyundai has already announced a joint development agreement with Broadcom Corporation, which will power the next generation of connected cars.

China is already home to BMW Group’s largest R&D system outside of Germany, with locations in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang and Nanjing. Based on the concept of open innovation, all BMW’s R&D functions in China have been merged together under one roof for efficient collaboration and high-speed performance.
