The average price of a new light vehicle (including both cars and light trucks) was up to a record $31,790 in 2016, up from the most recent low of $28,243 in 2008. The final Regulations Amending the Passenger Automobile and Light Truck Greenhouse Gas Emission Regulations for model year 2017 and beyond will be published in the Canada Gazette, Part II, on 8 October.
