SEA Electric was founded in Australia in 2012, with a proprietary electric power-system technology (known as SEA-Drive) for the world’s urban delivery and distribution fleets. The company forecast is to have more than 15,000 vehicles on the road by the end of 2023.

Zhejiang Geely Holding Group set a new export sales record in December with 11,000 cars being exported during the month, which also helped the company increase its export sales over the course of 2012 by 164%. Geely’s December 2012 sales were pulled forward by a strong showing from the Emgrand series of vehicles.

At the awards ceremony, the theme for the next Contest was announced as well.

UQM PowerPhase Pro 100 electric drive systems are powering a fleet of hydrogen fuel cell London taxicabs during the 2012 Olympic Games. According to Intelligent Energy, the company plans to put the vehicles into full production after a successful test program in 2012.

In 2012 Audi’s Hungarian plant opened a geothermal facility to supply most of its heat requirements. Audi Hungaria is thus the second of five Audi sites (after Audi Brussels) to achieve a neutral carbon balance, according to the company. Since 2012 Audi Hungaria has used this source for most of its requirement for heat at the site.
