Hyundai opening R&D and Lab Center in Montana to design and build Ultimate Mobility Vehicles

Hyundai New Horizons Studio (NHS), a unit focused on the development of Ultimate Mobility Vehicles (UMVs) ( earlier post ), will open a new Research, Development and Lab Center in Bozeman, Montana. The all-new facility will serve as NHS headquarters and will support prototyping, field testing and application development for UMVs.

Calumet’s Montana Renewables became the largest SAF producer in North America in Q2

reported that ramp-up of unit operations was completed during the second quarter, making its Montana Renewables subsidiary the largest producer of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in North America (approximately 30 million gallons per year). The Great Falls refinery in Montana produces both SAF and RD using Topsoe HydroFlex technology.

Saskatchewan and Montana Partner on Major Carbon Capture and Storage Project

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer to work together on the development of one of the largest international carbon capture and storage demonstration projects to date. The estimated of the total cost of the project in Canadian dollars is $270 million (US$231 million).

Nebraska provides TransCanada with map identifying Sandhills Regions to be avoided in designing alternative route for Keystone XL pipeline

TransCanada’s proposed Keystone XL project is designed to carry oil from Canada across Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. TransCanada also has proposed connecting it to the Bakken oil field in Montana and North Dakota. The entire project remains on hold while a new route is developed and studied.

MSU-led regional team awarded $6M NSF grant to research biofuel, carbon capture technologies
