Lightsource bp, together with Xcel Energy and EVRAZ North America , launched its new 300-megawatt Bighorn Solar project. The Bihorn Solar project is primarily located on 1,800 acres of land on EVRAZ Rocky Mountain Steel property in Pueblo.

Tyler Yadon, director of engineering at Lightning Systems, said that the vehicle will have a 257 kWh battery pack coupled with a 220 kW traction motor with a 2-speed transmission. The secondary payload is NASA’s Advanced Composite Solar Sail System, or ACS3. This cubesat is meant to test new materials used on deployable booms that will hold a solar sail. Rocket Lab did not indicate if any of the Rutherford engines that flew on that mission will be re-used or if they will be all new.
