The Methanol Institute (MI) released two new reports on the use of methanol as a safe, efficient and clean alternative fuel for cars, trucks and buses. The results of these tests showed the following: There is no copper corrosion in methanol gasoline blends, just some light tarnish. Octane increases when methanol is added to gasoline.

Fleet electrification provider Zeem Solutions has opened its first commercial EV transportation-as-a-service depot in Inglewood, California, near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Zeem owns and maintains electric trucks, vans, shuttle buses and other vehicles that are leased to businesses that pay a monthly lease to use the vehicles.

Following on the introduction of R33 Blue Diesel ( earlier post ), Bosch, Shell, and Volkswagen have now developed a low-carbon gasoline. The new fuel, called Blue Gasoline, similarly contains up to 33% renewables, ensuring a well-to-wheel reduction in carbon emissions of at least 20% per kilometer driven.

Recent US Supreme Court precedent has opened the door for states to enact laws requiring all new cars sold in the state to be electric as of a certain date, according to a paper by the nonprofit Coltura published in the University of Michigan Journal of Environmental and Administrative Law. Its vision is a gasoline-free US by 2040 or sooner.
