Mercedes has now been approved in two states to be able to use turquoise lights to signify when its vehicles are in an automated driving mode. On Tuesday, Mercedes shared a press release announcing that it has received exemptions in California and Nevada to test special turquoise marker lights to indicate its automated driving mode.

CARB approves Heavy-Duty Low NOx Omnibus Regulation; to cut NOx 90%

The California Air Resources Board has approved a multi-pronged regulation that will significantly reduce NO x emissions from heavy-duty diesel trucks. The NO x standards that engines must meet will be cut to approximately 75% below current standards beginning in 2024, and 90% below current standards in 2027.

The staff of the California Air Resources Board (ARB) staff is considering including alternative jet fuel (AJF) in the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS). In 2009, the ARB approved the LCFS regulation to reduce the carbon intensity (CI) of transportation fuel used in California by at least 10% by 2020 from a 2010 baseline.
