Altilium metals delivers first cathode active materals from recycled end-of-life batteries

UK-based Altilium Metals ( earlier post ) has successfully produced cathode active materials (CAM) recovered from end-of-life EV battery scrap at its recycling demonstration line in Devon. The CAM will be analyzed in coin cells and single layer pouch cells, similar to those used to power the Nissan Leaf EV.

Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX breaks own efficiency record on 1,202 km summer road trip on a single battery charge; 8.3 kWh/100 km

The Mercedes-Benz VISION EQXX has beat its own efficiency record ( earlier post ) in real-world driving with another 1,000 km+ (621 mile+) journey on a single battery charge. Continuing its journey in the UK, it took the M25 around London then stopped off at Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix in Brackley.

Bi-fuel evolutions of the LEVC TX taxi and VN5 van; range extender engines run on LPG/biopropane and CNG/biomethane

The LEVC TX and VN5 are manufactured by London EV Company (LEVC), a subsidiary of Geely. Biomethane and biopropane can both be made from waste feedstocks such as food waste, farm waste and sewage and both are in volume production already. All of these fuels are available today and also offer 30-50% operating cost savings.
