Effective immediately, the United Kingdom has announced it will no longer supply EV grants for most consumer purchases. The grant system, launched in 2011 as part of a system to kick start the EV sector in the UK, has ended for most consumers, only leaving grants available for vehicles in niche and commercial uses.

Aptera has received a new $21 million grant from the California Energy Commission to help it achieve production readiness. Now, Aptera has received money from a grant issued by the State of California. The grant for $21 million was granted to Aptera to allow the fledgling automaker to achieve production at its California facilities.

The UK Plug-in Car grant aims to stimulate the sales of electric cars by slicing a chunk of the price. Recently the value of the grant was reduced and the number of models eligible dramatically cut. Priced at £34,945, before the grant, the new model offers upto 282 miles of range (WLTP), the most of any sub £35,000 car.

The Tesla Cyberttruck has not started its deliveries yet, but the all-electric pickup truck is already gathering some accolades. One of these was granted by British motoring magazine Top Gear, which gave the Tesla Cybertruck its “Disruptor of the Year” award for 2023. The Model S, however, was not provided by Tesla.

Nissan has confirmed price reductions of both 40kWh and 62kWh versions of its award-winning LEAF electric vehicle, effective from April. All grades of LEAF and both battery capacities (40kWh and 62kWh) are eligible for the revised Plug-In Car Grant of £2,500, which is offered on electric vehicles under £35,000 RRP.

Following the scrapping of the Karnataka Electric Bike Taxi scheme, 2021, taxi-aggregator platform Rapido plans to recall all e-bike taxis running under their platform. The Karnataka Electric Bike Taxi scheme, 2021, was scrapped on March 6. The scrapping of the policy only pertains to battery-operated vehicles.
