The E-Mobility Group of Daimler Trucks & Buses is launching a worldwide initiative to establish a charging infrastructure for battery-electric trucks. The initial focus is on charging stations installed at the depots of truck customers. Fast processes mean reduced costs for all involved. Japan is the next market to follow.

Twenty-four percent of opportunity charging sessions start when the battery is already more than 80% charged, according to a report released by ViriCiti, a provider of electric fleet and infrastructure management solutions. For the report , ViriCiti analyzed 40,000 charging sessions from ~190 charging stations in the US and EU.

Electrify America has opened more than 500 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the US, with more than 2,200 individual DC fast chargers. Since opening its first site in May 2018, Electrify America has set a rapid pace for its network expansion, opening an average of nearly four stations per week.

Just a few months after the launch, Porsche is expanding its charging service for plug-in and electric vehicles ( earlier post ) by five countries and additional functions. The platform now has more than 49,000 charging points in twelve countries. A new feature offered by the Porsche Charging Service is a rating function.
