Hyundai XCIENT fuel cell fleet in Switzerland logged 5M km in 2 years

Hyundai Motor Company announced that its fleet of XCIENT Fuel Cell heavy-duty trucks in Switzerland has accumulated more than 5 million km in two years. Its seven large hydrogen tanks offer a combined storage capacity of around 31 kg of fuel, while a 72-kWh-powered set of three batteries supports the performance.

First Tesla Supercharger in Switzerland

Tesla Motors opened its first Supercharger station in Switzerland today; the Lully station is about 50 km (31 miles) northeast of Geneva on the A1 motorway. With more Supercharger stations opening soon in Germany and Austria, Model S owners will be able to drive through Germany to Switzerland and Austria this winter, Tesla said.

Stadler wins contracts for up to 120 battery-powered trains, 25 hydrogen trains

Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) has awarded Stadler a framework agreement for up to 120 battery-powered trains. The FLIRT Akku vehicles are the battery-powered version of Stadler’s best-selling FLIRT model, which has already sold over 2,500 units worldwide. The vehicle has an operating range of around 100 kilometers.

Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility, a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Company and Swiss company H2 Energy, has also established Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility Germany GmbH (HHMG) to actively expand its entry into the hydrogen-powered commercial vehicle market in Germany. The maximum driving range is 400 km per charge.

Stadler and SBCTA sign contract for first hydrogen-powered train in US; FLIRT H2

Stadler and San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) have signed the first contract to supply a hydrogen-powered train to run in the United States. The ordered vehicle consists of two cars with a power pack in between. SBCTA awarded the contract with an option to order four more vehicles in the future.
