Study confirms €1T green hydrogen potential for Africa

Africa can produce 50 million tons of green hydrogen a year by 2035, according to a new study by the European Investment Bank (EIB), International Solar Alliance and the African Union, with the support of the Government of Mauritania, HyDeal and UCLG Africa. The report was formally handed over to partners on 20 December.

EU Innovation Fund grants €108M to RWE’s waste-to-hydrogen project FUREC

RWE's FUREC project, which aims to produce circular and green hydrogen from non-recyclable municipal solid waste in Limburg, the Netherlands, received a €108-million grant from the EU’s Innovation Fund. The plant is expected to produce 54,000 tonnes of hydrogen per year. A final investment decision is to be made in 2024.
