Glencore orders full fleet of Epiroc battery-electric mining equipment for Onaping Depth nickel and copper mine in Canada

Glencore’s Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations (INO) has ordered a full fleet of Epiroc battery-electric equipment for use at the Onaping Depth Project in Ontario, Canada. The nickel and copper mine is located below the existing Craig mine and is being developed to start production in 2024. The order also includes the capability for advanced automation solutions, including remote control.

Study finds EV buyers want rebates, not tax credits; government could have saved $2B

A study by a team from the George Washington University finds that not all financial incentives are created equal in the eyes of prospective car buyers, and the current federal incentive—a tax credit—is, in fact, valued the least by car buyers. The study also found that whereas time-delayed incentives like federal tax credits favor wealthier buyers, immediate incentives like direct rebates were strongly preferred by used car buyers and buyers with lower incomes.

MATHESON , the US affiliate of Nippon Sanso Holdings Corporation ( NSHD ), has signed a long-term supply agreement to meet hydrogen requirements for a 75,000 bpd refinery in Mobile, Alabama owned by Vertex Energy. The MATHESON Facility will have a nameplate capacity exceeding 30 mmscfd hydrogen production and the capability to process a range of feedstocks, including renewable naphtha and other co-products from Vertex’s renewable diesel production, as well as natural gas, as necessary.
