Jayme Thornton PPPL researchers say their simpler machine demonstrates a way to build stellarators far more cheaply and quickly, allowing researchers to easily test new concepts for future fusion power plants. And unlike conventional nuclear fission, fusion comes with no risk of meltdowns or weaponization, and no long-lived nuclear waste.

Yes, if you look at the form factor, it is an outlet, so it has all the advantages over an EV charger, such as small size, low cost and zero maintenance. All of that is impossible if you build an EV charging company by only making software. If the company dies or if you move out of the multi-family, that cable will be wasted.
