ABB installing electric-vehicle fast chargers at BP service stations in Netherlands

Power and automation technology group ABB has started installing multiple fast-charging systems for electric vehicles (EVs) at some BP service stations in the Netherlands as part of a nationwide trial. Prestige GreenCab, a Dutch taxi operator with a large electric-vehicle fleet, took the initiative for the installations in Utrecht.

Wärtsilä hybrid propulsion system with methanol engine to power four SAL heavy lift vessels; wind farm installations

The vessels have been contracted by SAL Heavy Lift GmbH, a German heavy lift and project cargo specialist and part of the Harren Group, in cooperation with its joint-venture partner, Netherlands-based Jumbo Shipping. They will also be the first methanol capable ships to employ a variable speed main engine in a hybrid installation.
