Alternative fuel technologies have been embraced in Seattle, after the city was awarded a $1.4million grant from the US Department of Energy to enhance its fleet of green vehicles. Seattle also signed an agreement to be one of the first markets to introduce the Nissan LEAF back in April.

A $25 billion fund for green cars dodged the axe yesterday as the conservative member of the US Congress agreed drop attempts to trim the fund as part of the US government’s budget reviews.
