Lexus adds 2024 RX 450H+ plug-in hybrid to the lineup; starting at $70,080

Building on the all-new redesign of its RX crossover vehicle last year, Lexus is adding the anticipated plug-in hybrid to the electrified lineup: the 2024 Lexus RX 450h+. Powered by a 96-cell lithium-ion battery pack paired with a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine (shared with NX), the 2024 RX 450h+ hybrid system has a manufacturer-estimated combined 83 MPGe rating.

2023 Tesla Model 3, Model Y investigated for loss of steering control

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened an investigation into alleged loss of steering control in 2023 Tesla Model 3 and Model Y electric cars. Li-Cycle starts operations at its first European lithium-ion battery recycling facility

Li-Cycle Holdings announced the start of commercial operations at its first Spoke recycling facility in Europe, located in Magdeburg, Germany. The Germany Spoke’s first main processing line has now commenced operations, with the second main line expected to start later in 2023. Each main line has the capacity to process up to 10,000 tonnes of lithium-ion battery material per year.

Report: Tesla seeks $100M from US for Semi charging route

Alberta to award $45M in funding to innovative hydrogen projects

The government of the Canadian province of Alberta will launch two hydrogen funding competitions using the Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) fund. The new funding will support hydrogen technologies to be used in production, transmission and distribution, storage, and in industries such as heavy-duty transportation, industrial heat and chemicals. $20 million is available through Alberta Innovates’ Hydrogen Centre of Excellence for early-stage innovations.
