Volvo Cars has a strategic direction to become fully electric by 2030 and shape the future of mobility. In line with those strategic ambitions, Volvo Cars will divest its 33% holding in Aurobay to Geely Holding. Aurobay will become part of the new global company specializing in hybrid and low- emission powertrains being formed by Renault and Geely. ( Earlier post.).

Kindred Motorworks, the San Francisco Bay Area producer of modernized vintage vehicles, has partnered with Idaho-based KORE Power, a developer of battery cell technology, to supply battery modules for the electrified models in the Kindred lineup. Geely Holding Group, Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (collectively “Geely”) and Renault Group have signed a non-binding framework agreement to create a new global leader to develop, manufacture and supply best-in-class hybrid powertrains and highly efficient ICE powertrains. Shell has agreed to buy a total of 3.25 billion liters (860k gallons US) of sugar-cane cellulosic ethanol under a long-term agreement with Brazil’s Raízen. The low-carbon fuel is expected to be produced by five plants that Raízen plans to build in Brazil, bringing its total portfolio of cellulosic ethanol facilities to nine. Raizen produces its cellulosic ethanol from bagasse from the production of sugar and regular sugarcane ethanol.

Lordstown Motors (LMC), an original equipment manufacturer of electric vehicles focused on the commercial fleet market, and Foxconn Ventures Pte.
