U Mich team uses windshield wipers on connected vehicles to produce high-accuracy rainfall maps

Researchers at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, have produced improved rainfall estimates by combining weather radar with windshield wiper observations from connected vehicles. We find that the resulting rainfall field estimate captures rainfall events that would otherwise be missed by conventional measurements.
